Submitted by: Kelly J Wilson

St Lucia isn’t just all about beaches, and if you are doing research prior to booking your honeymoon in St Lucia, then don’t forget to investigate Fond Doux Holiday Plantation at Soufriere.

A honeymoon in St Lucia sounds just about the perfect destination, but many couples miss out on what could be the perfect hotel simply because they haven’t heard of it, and yet it could be the perfect solution, and it is called Fond Doux Holiday Plantation.

Fond Doux Holiday Plantation is a real case of where the old colonial world of St Lucia meets the 21st century and the collision means a spectacular destination for a special St Lucia honeymoon. It is highly rated as a top hotel in St Lucia, and in fact many knowledgeable voices claim it to the top destination at Soufriere.

If you are looking for a hideaway honeymoon in St Lucia, then this is probably your answer.
If you want to be away from the beach, then this is definitely your answer.
If you like perfectly cooked delicious food, then look no further.

Fond Doux Holiday Plantation has but eight rooms, ranging between cottages, suites, and rooms, with exotic names like Cinnamon, Bamboo, African Tulip Cottage, and Cocoa Tree, and Angelina Plantation House, plus The Hibiscus Suite, and all are really well equipped with everything you could want to make you feel totally at home

What you are talking about here is the total tranquility of lush tropical gardens which has the effect of relaxing you almost immediately you arrive, which is really quite astonishing. When you add modern amenities and quite superb and attentive staff and you have a potent mixture. You could almost feel you and your spouse are here alone in what can only be called a tropical paradise. In fact the setting is so beautiful as to be almost unreal.

Just take the time to sit on the porch of your almost fairy tale cottage, and feel the cool breeze, smell the perfume of the tropical flowers borne on the breeze, and realize that this isn’t just a tropical paradise, but also a tranquil hideaway in which to relax and unwind after the excitement of the big day. You will waken to the sound of the birds and go to sleep to the noise of the crickets.

The two restaurants, both in the tropical gardens, are the Cocoa Pod which offers up breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and the Jardin Cacao which does a la carte lunch and dinner. Lunch is usually a buffet with both local and international fare, and the dinner menus will find you reaching for superlatives, and if you manage to eat your way through every menu during your stay, you’ll be pressed to find anything you don’t like, and the fruits served are picked off the trees on the plantation!! Be aware that you are definitely on Caribbean time on your St Lucia Honeymoon, especially in the restaurants, so you will have plenty of time to peruse the menu, and have a couple of rum punches or pina coladas before your order will arrive, but who cares!!

As you will realise the staff and management at Fond Doux Holiday Plantation are in a class of their own. They all go the extra mile for their guests which just adds to the whole ambiance of your stay. Many guests don’t leave between arrival and departure, because what are you going to see, or eat that can be better. For a St Lucia Honeymoon this small corner of paradise is perfect.
