Planning For Your Wedding Day...

Submitted by: Juhlin Youlein

A wedding is that special day that is magical. Brides imagine what that day is going to be like since they are children. Months and sometimes years go into planning the ceremony and reception. Much effort is spent into saving and budgeting to pay for the single day. So what are some of the major things to remember to include into your budget.

First the wedding facility is of great importance. Facilities must be scheduled long in advance. Figure on scheduling the facility at least 3 months to a year in advance. Some places are longer or shorter depending on the demand for the facility. The facility must be large enough to accommodate your guests and decorations. Also consider that the facility will effect your pictures dramatically. You may want to ask a photographer's advice on a place that will benefit your photos.

Decorations are a big part of a wedding. There are plenty of rental places for wedding decorations so again make sure and plan in advance. You will also need dishes, punch bowls, and silverware for any food you plan on serving at your reception or pre-wedding dinners.

Photographers are important to consider as well. Refer to the web where you will be able to view the photographer's portfolio. Photographers are sometimes booked a year in advance!!! So schedule your photographer ASAP.

Many marrying couples will book a photographer and wait until the last minute to book a videographer. The video is just as important as the photographer and will be the source of most your memories of the wedding day. Videographers will likely have a web page with a few sample videos of other weddings they have done. Most videographers put the best clips together to music to recap the day. They will also have an option to have the full ceremony and vows on the video. I know that their is a possibility you might not agree, but wedding videos are best when they are the highlights and not the entire day's events. Family members alike will enjoy watching a professionally edited video much more than a documentary of the entire days events. Videographers charge approximately the same as photographers so remember to include them in your budget.

Food is the last big expense that I will mention. When you have hundreds of guests it's not hard to imagine why. Depending on what you are planning to do there are many options. If you are going all out with a catering company with steak and lobster than plan on spending several thousands of dollars. Restaurants often cater so you will be able to find the right restaurant for you budget. If you are planning to save money than orderves are a good option instead of a dinner. Costco will have high quality food at a very reasonable price.

Whatever you decide, these are the 5 big wedding expenses I would recommend you plan for. There are plenty of other things you will be able to spend money on from ice sculptures to limo's, but first you should take care of the basics.
