Cheap family holidays in Majorca are incredibly popular. It’s no wonder - the extra value makes a potentially costly time that bit easier on the wallet, while still allowing you and the kids to take in the sun, sand and sea of one of South Europe’s most beautiful islands. The island has also grown to become something of a tourist paradise, with new attractions in Majorca popping up every year. As the island can be driven across in 2 hours, there’s no excuse not to cherry pick the best of Majorca’s attractions for you and your family, as long as you know what they are. Well never fear, because here are the top 5 attractions for a cheap family holiday in Majorca: The Magalluf Pirate Show This is a surprisingly long-running Majorca holiday institution! It’s been going for 22 years now, and in that time over 3,000,000 customers have paid to see its unique brand of amazing acrobatics, dazzling dancing and cut-throat comedy. The price of dinner is included in the ticket, making it a complete night out, perfect for family holidays in Majorca – just make sure that you go for the Pirates Adventure and not Pirates Uncut – which is an adults-only version of the same adventure unsuitable for under-18s! Aqualand, El Arenal There are a number of waterparks amongst Majorca’s attractions (including another Aqualand at Magaluf,) but for my money the best and biggest is the Aqualand at El Arenal. This is like most other water parks but on a far bigger scale, so expect the usual mix of daredevil white knuckle slides, gentle rubber ring rides and the ‘surf beach’ for a more gentle swim. It is a little on the expensive side, but if you go when it isn’t too crowded you should easily get your money’s worth. Golf Fantasia, Palma Nova There are plenty of crazy golf courses in on the island, but few of the golfing attractions in Majorca are quite up to the scale and budget of Golf Fantasia in Palma Nova. It mixes varied scenery (caves, waterfalls and gardens) with a good number of holes – three 18 hole courses in total. The only downside to this reasonably priced attraction is the popularity of the place. It really is a victim of its own success, which means you could be waiting a while if you venture there during peak hours. It is open until 2am, but this obviously is not much use for families with very young children… Karting Magalluf Go Karts may not be the main reason you’d take your children to Majorca, but they should be something you try while you’re there! Karting Magalluf tries its hardest to replicate the real racing experience, and is open to both professional and amateur go-karters. You may feel a little uneasy about taking young children to the potentially dangerous activities, but there is also a practice course and karts for children as young as 3, making Karting Magalluf a great attraction for everyone on a family holiday to Majorca! Majorca Auto Safari, Sa Como Last but not least is one of the best attractions in Majorca: the only dedicated zoo, the Majorca Auto Safari Park. It offers its visitors a unique experience: a four kilometre drive through open countryside featuring monkeys, giraffes, zebras and flamingos. The baby zoo is the best part for young children, and who could resist the charms of exotic baby elephants and crocodiles frolicking in the Majorca sunshine? Obviously the main part of the zoo is not accessible on foot, but those without a hire car can ride the mini train to take in the wonders of the park. This is only scratching the surface, and there are plenty of other great Majorca attractions for kids in Majorca dotted around the island (not least the magnificent beach and coastline), but if you do find yourself at a loose end during your cheap family holiday to Majorca, you and your kids can’t go wrong with any of these.
