I remember being a kid and attending my aunts wedding, which had to be postponed since they couldn’t sign up a band for their special day. The Professional entertainer of today has complete access to musical genres that can satisfy the needs of those who require specialty songs, and that’s what the crowd will expect from him. But his role goes far beyond his music folders. The role of a DJ (Disc Jockey) has evolved to that of only play tunes one after another to that of a planner, an MC, an entertainer, a reader of the dance floor, a promoter of interaction. The Dj now is in the business of Memories, so to speak. His role is to bring the party at such level of entertainment that people will remember the booking and say “that was a good party”.

What you should expect from your wedding dj can be resumed as Personality, Dress Code, Interaction, Musical Knowledge, Experience, Accessibility, Flexibility and Professionalism. Additional fixtures such as on-site back up gear, lighting effects, quality sound system, etc, are also features to be taken into consideration.

In a last note I will say that most people at your wedding won’t remember two weeks down the road about the food they ate, nor about the center pieces at the tables nor about other little details so carefully considered by you and your couple. Statistics show that in most weddings people will only spend about 5% in the dj. Yet, that’s the part of the night that, if successful, everyone will remember the most !!!
