Are you fed up with going to bars trying to spot your partner? Well, if you are looking for someone special or a long term relationship, it’s better to understand yourself first. E.g. what you like doing for leisure, what your hobbies are and what types of man/woman you like, etc. Hence, it’s easier to meet them from where you normally go. 1. The local grocery stores: Not the big chains--too many married couples go to big stores, so the odds will be against you. Try the corner convenient type stores in your neighbourhood, where more singles are prone to shop. 2. The bookshop or library. Shop in your regular sections (including something everyday, e.g. gardening, cooking), and pay attention to others who are also shopping there. It's easy to start a conversation about the books and authors you know or like to read. And you'll know that you already have something in common with the other person. 3. Online chat rooms and dating sites. This will work well for people who are too shy or too busy to approach others. Online chatting gives you a lot of room to communicate, which important first step to any of successful relationships. It can be rewarding if you are careful of not to revealing too much information about yourself too quickly. Take it slowly and use the same precautions you would when meeting someone in person. 4. Church: if you are a church goer, you will find many nice people around and sometimes you might just find someone to share the same belief and same interest. 5. Activity groups: this can be a sports club, gym, a language class, dancing class, single parent events, etc. All in all, if you are engaged in activities that you are interested in doing, the chances are you will meet someone who has similar interests. The mistake we make is that we are too shy to go to these places on our own, so it might be a good idea to find some of your friends to go with you. Alternatively, just try out, and you will find that it’s not too hard to step your door to meet people. Here you go, it’s time to get out and meet someone
